Radiofrequency Therapy

What is Radiofrequency?

Radio waves create local heating by the friction effect on water molecules in the skin and subcutaneous structures. With this heat effect, fibroblast cells that produce collagen in deep dermal tissues are stimulated. By creating a controlled damage in the area, the tissue is repaired, renewed and recovered. Furthermore, with the effect of the heat created under the skin, cell metabolism is accelerated and an increase in blood circulation in the area is provided.

Is radiofrequency treatment a safe application?

The application is safe and the results are perceptibly successful.

How is radiofrequency treatment applied?

The application is very comfortable. The head of the radiofrequency device is gently moved over the skin surface, and at the same time, it is constantly checked whether the skin has reached the desired temperature with a special thermometer. The patient feels intense warmth on his/her skin during the process. As soon as the burning sensation begins, the head is shifted to another area. The application period varies between 20 and 30 minutes and 5-10 sessions are sufficient to obtain the desired results.

Is radiofrequency treatment a painful process?

Prior to the radiofrequency application, pain killing and anesthetic special creams are applied to sensitive patients. These creams prevent the pain formation during the process. A mild burning may be felt at the end of the procedure. Burning effect is also reduced with special creams that calms and soothes the skin.

Are there any risks of radiofrequency treatment?

The radiofrequency system affects the tissues under the skin, not the top layer of the skin. Therefore, there is no risk of spots. That’s why, it can be applied in all seasons. There is no risk of infection since special heads are used for the process.

When do the results occur?

Uygulamanın tam sonuçları ortalama bir ay içinde görülmeye başlıyor. 2-3 ay içinde optimum seviyeye ulaşıyor.

Who can benefit from radiofrequency treatment?

Radiofrequency tightening is recommended to almost everyone who complains about loosening and sagging on their skins. Radiofrequency waves are successfully applied not only on the face but throughout the body. With this method, very successful results are obtained in cellulite treatment and body tightening processes.

How is the cellulite treated with radiofrequency?

Cellulite is a health problem defined as ‘Hydrolipodystrophy’ which concerns subcutaneous adipose tissue and small vessels. Cellulite is defined as the occurrence of dimpled-looking skin that looks like an orange peel and the accompanying loss of tightness. It occurs especially in areas where there is excessive fat deposition, such as buttocks, hips and calf. The main causes of cellulite formation are changes in adipose tissue and microcirculation, genetic predisposition, frequent weight changes, hormonal factors, unhealthy diet and irregular lifestyle, some medications used and stress. As with all diseases, early diagnosis is very important when it comes to cellulite. Cellulite is divided into phases as 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th.

How does radiofrequency treatment affect cellulite?

In this method, the basic principle is to heat all the tissues containing water in a controlled way. Radiofrequency activates the water molecules in the cells, and heats that area with friction effect. The temperature reaches around 42-45 degrees. After the collagen tissue is damaged, the body takes action to repair that tissue. During warming up process, the collagen tissue in that area is damaged to a certain extent and produces new collagen tissue. This causes the wavy appearance in that area to be removed to some extent.

Is there any pain or burning sensation in radiofrequency treatment?

A certain sensation of warmth appears during the process, but this cannot be described as burning. Besides, the temperature in the tissue is continuously measured with a laser thermometer and application is carried out accordingly.

Are radiofrequency applications more advantageous than laser applications?

In radiofrequency applications, the upper skin is not affected at all, so there is no risk of sunspotting unlike peeler laser applications. By means of this feature, they can be applied in summer as well.

How many sessions are required and what should the frequency be?

It is recommended to continue for at least 10-12 sessions, once a week. The duration of the application varies between 30-40 minutes.

Is radiofrequency treatment applicable in the summer as well?

It is applicable in all seasons.
